Costs and Logistics for Emerald Cup and CA State Fair Submittals

 

DEADLINES

• Emerald Cup:

  • If Testing is Needed:

    • Wednesday, February 16 = Flower in Backroads Distribution for testing

    • Monday, February 21 - Wednesday, February 23 = Flower packaged

    • Friday, February 24 = Flower submitted to participating drop off site

  • If No Testing is Needed:

    • Wednesday, February 23 = Arrange pick up

    • Friday, February 24 = Flower submitted to drop off site

• State Fair:

  • If Testing is Needed:

    • Wednesday, March 16 = Flower in Backroads Distribution for testing

    • Monday, March 21 - Wednesday, March 23 = Flower packaged

    • Thursday, March 24 = Flower submitted to drop off site

  • If No Testing is Needed:

    • Wednesday, March 23 = Arrange pick up

    • Thursday, March 24 = Flower submitted to drop off site

 

LOGISTICS

• Testing

  • Backroads Distribution can test just the amount you would like to submit to the competition, or the full amount of a COA test which is 50 lbs and can store your product based on our storage rates. 

• Packaging

  • Flower will be packed with the logo/name of your farm. Packaging only available in jars or pre-rolls.

  • If you need graphic design, we can connect you with some options with their rates.

 

COSTS – Covered by the Farm

• Submittals

  • Emerald Cup = $500

  • State Fair = Individual cultivar: $250. Discounts for multiple cultivar submissions:

• Testing

  • Varies from $420 - $550

• Packaging

  • Graphic Design help = varies

  • Jar packaging = $1/jar

  • Joint Packaging = varies

• Transportation

  • Varies on participating farms and pick up/drop-off locations. Email or call for more information.
